Halvor Lines

Halvor Lines

OVERVIEW:

Paving the way for more than 50 years

Halvor Lines, Inc. was founded in 1968 when Bill Vinje and four friends began hauling snowmobiles and miniature Christmas trees across the U.S. and Canada. The company they contracted with — Duluth, MN, based on Halvorson Equipment — became the inspiration for the name Halvor Lines.

Bill eventually bought out the other owners and became Halvor’s CEO. By 2001, Halvor had grown from five trucks to 200 thanks to Bill’s focus on safety, dependability, and respect for his customers, drivers, and office staff.

Halvor continues to grow under the leadership of Bill’s son and grandchildren. Thanks to an ongoing focus on safety and service, Halvor’s customers have grown to include a wide array of national clients, from leading food manufacturers to home furnishing companies and home construction suppliers. Halvor drivers are dispatched through seven Midwestern terminals in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and Indiana. Halvor Lines is headquartered in Superior, WI, close to Lake Superior. You’ll find our main terminal located on the shores of St. Louis Bay.

For the past decade, Halvor has offered enhanced transportation and trucking services through its partnership with Halvor Logistics. Together, Halvor Lines and Halvor Logistics offer the power of more than 4,500 carrier partners and the ability to deliver goods anywhere in the U.S. and Canada.

While Halvor has been around for 55 years, the family spends its days looking forward — investing in new trucks and trailers, getting ahead of the curve on ELDs and other technology, and building a state-of-the-art terminal in Rosemount, MN.
